Meet Dr. Nguyen
Sarah was born and raised in the Portland area and her journey into dentistry began at Pacific Lutheran University where she played soccer and tennis and met her husband, Tuan. After graduating cum laude with two degrees, she went on to attend Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) where she received her four-year Army Health Professional Scholarship. During her active-duty assignment in Kaiserslautern, Germany, she discovered her interest in dental surgery while participating in a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency.
Sarah continued to strengthen her dental expertise during the next three years as one of the only general dentists in a large specialty clinic. After serving the military and exploring Europe with her husband and dogs, Sarah returned to OHSU for a three year periodontal residency in 2008.
She is now a board-certified periodontist, and is the current president of the Oregon Society of Periodontics. Since completing her residency, she has been committed to providing quality treatments with a caring touch in the Portland and Vancouver communities and looks forward to many years of serving patients with skillful and compassionate care. When not at the office she enjoys playing sports and being outdoors in the company of her husband, toddler boy/girl twins, newborn daughter, and four dogs.
